“I helped by mother string fashion necklaces and earrings to aid the earnings of my family. At a young age I was already conscious that my family was struggling to make ends meet”.
This week, our featured police officer is a woman of strength, stood as mother and father to her two kids since her husband works abroad. Sometime in the near future she will become a lady lawyer to fight for the less fortunate and oppressed. Join me as I narrate her story.
PCMS Menchou Serognas Alipar braved the calling to become a police officer in a male dominated organization to fulfill the dream of her father.
“Though my father was a retired police officer but we were having a hard time since we are four siblings and we were all going to school. Back then the salary of a police officer is meager and would not suffice the needs of our family”.
” I can clearly remember that I used to accompany my father to work, I was curious with the work of the police and I was a papa’s girl. Policing is not new to me, it was natural that I became a police officer too when it was time for me to work”.
She graduated with a degree in Bachelor in Commerce Major in Banking and Finance in 2002. Yes, PCMS Alipar is an expert in finance and the nitty gritty of budgeting. It was not a surprise that she was assigned in Cebu PPO in the Budget and Finance Section since it was aligned with her course.
PCMS Menchou Serognas Alipar graduated in Bachelor of Laws in 2010 at Gullas School of Law. Someday if the Almighty permits, she hopes that she will become a full pledged lawyer to help clients who are unfortunate in life. She will not stop until she will attain her dreams.
On a lighter side, she met her husband through a colleague in the PNP who introduced them. They are blessed with two children.
According to PCMS Alipar, she is most thankful to her husband who understands her work and its demands. Her husband, Mr. Eduardson Alipar is a hotelier in Dubai. PCMS Alipar’s challenge is to take care her kids and juggle work since she is alone. Thankfully she is able to manage work and her kids, a skill she has mastered over the years.
Whenever her husband is home, they take the opportunity to spend time together, they go on vacation and make quality time to make up lost time.
Her siblings are accomplished in their own right, one is a teacher and a psychologist. The dreams of their parents are fulfilled.
Today, PCMS Menchou Serognas Alipar works in Asturias Police Station as a Women and Children and Protection Desk in-charge. Every day she handles children in conflict with the law and women and children who are victims of abuse. She steers it with utmost confidentiality with her 19-years of experience.
Make no mistake to mess with PCMS Menchou Serognas Alipar, our future lawyer! Mabuhi ka!
