Catmon, Cebu | The Catmon Municipal Police Station (MPS) proudly received an official commendation for its exemplary performance in law enforcement operations under the PNP Campaign Against Wanted Persons (Manhunt Charlie). The award was presented during the Monday flag-raising ceremony on June 1, 2026 at Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO), Doña Modesta Gaisano Street, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.
This significant achievement was made possible through the synchronized efforts of the Catmon Police and the strong support of the local community. The operation led to the successful capture of Top 9 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level and the Top 3 at the Municipal Level in Bogo City. The arrest was executed by virtue of a long-standing warrant issued on March 22, 2022, for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (the Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution, and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs).
For over four years, the suspect managed to evade the law. The turning point in the manhunt came through actionable, real-time intelligence provided by alert and supportive citizens. This unwavering public cooperation, combined with logistical and administrative backing from the Catmon LGU, gave law enforcement the critical edge needed to close the net.
In a statement following the ceremony, the Catmon MPS reaffirmed its core mission to serve with integrity, dedication, and excellence. Leadership emphasized that the award serves as a powerful reminder that community safety is a shared responsibility, proving that the most effective weapon against crime is an active, trusting populace.
The Catmon PNP issued a stern warning to lawbreakers and individuals attempting to evade justice, declaring that the full force of their intelligence network will be utilized to track them down. “There is no hiding place for individuals who threaten the safety and well-being of our community.” As manhunt operations intensify, the Catmon PNP continues to urge residents of Catmon and neighboring areas to maintain their vigilance. Authorities emphasized that continued collaboration and the timely reporting of suspicious activities remain the ultimate backbone of a peaceful, a crime-free Catmon municipality.
