Daanbantayan, Cebu – 701st Maneuver Company, RMFB7 successfully executed a voluntary surrender of an unlicensed .38 caliber revolver. This initiative, conducted in line with Minor Combat/Clearing Operation OPLAN N22-2023 “OREO,” aims to invigorate police operations and anti-criminality efforts, supporting Executive Order 70’s objective of Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) and the broader Campaign Against Loose Firearms.
The operation included barangay visitation and symposiums on anti-terrorism, anti-criminality, and the campaign against loose firearms. During this event, a resident known as Alyas “GER” voluntarily approached the officers, surrendering his unlicensed .38 caliber revolver without ammunition and markings. The individual cited the lack of proper licensing as the reason for surrender.
The operating troops facilitated the surrender, and the firearm is now in the custody of 701st MC RMFB 7 for proper disposition. RMFB7 underscores their unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and controlling criminality to ensure peace, order, and public safety in the community. They further encourage active public participation in maintaining a secure environment in the region.
