This week I will be telling you a story of a Non-Uniformed Personnel who started her career at a young age and how she grew to be a matured woman.
Hers is a feel good story that will make you appreciate her journey working in the PNP. NUP Ma. Precious Janine de los Santos- Niere’s story begins in Alcoy, Cebu.
“When I was young my ambition was to become a teacher”. Her ambition couldn’t be far from the profession of her mother who is a teacher.
Her father was also a non-teaching staff of DepEd, though her parents are employed they didn’t live an affluent life. They have to prioritize on what is important in order to afford them the life they wanted.
When NUP Niere was young she cannot forget an experience when they were playing hide and seek with a cousin. She was chasing her cousin in the upstairs room when the door was suddenly locked. In order to get inside the room, she has to pass through the ceiling. NUP Niere bravely climbed the ceiling but to her surprise she fell to the ground floor of their ancestral house. As a result, she got bruises, a broken arm and a scar from that experience.
She had happy memories along with her cousins, during summertime they swam in the sea and during Christmas break they had family gatherings where they all shared food and bond with her cousins. According to her, her cousins are her OG’s or her Original Gangters to the non-mellinials’
During the pandemic, they ventured into a family business with her cousins. They sold tostados, the original recipe of her Lola Crispina. But only lasted for a year because they suddenly got busy with each of their careers. In the near future they will revive the business when they have enough manpower to run the business.
NUP Ma. Precious Janine de los Santos- Niere was a consistent honor student in Elementary. It wouldn’t be a surprise that she graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Psychology in the University of San Jose Recoletos in 2013.
When she graduated in college, she was able to rest and able to enjoy life. She wasn’t pressured to work immediately. According to her the ultimate goal was to graduate, and from there in 2014 she applied in the PNP.
The first job she applied was the PNP, luckily she got accepted and here she is, diligently performing her job as a Crime Registrar. Since she was a Cum Laude, she has high standards in her work and the people around her.
NUP Niere has a pleasant attitude towards work and towards her workmates. As a member of the PNP she sets the standard of operating with excellence in her job and working professionally.
She was 23 when she entered the PNP and now that she is 31 she continues to grow in the organization. She was single when she entered in the service and now she is happily married.
The love for adventure binds the NUP Niere and husband, while her husband works in the City, she works in Alcoy, Cebu. Currently, they are enjoying their young union and working on having a baby in near future.
In her words, driven by the satisfactory desire to romanticize life- family, goals, learning new things and the God given life is what motivates NUP Niere.
In all these, one has to Breathe it all in, love it all out and trust the process, that’s what NUP Ma. Precious Janine de los Santos- Niere guiding principle in life.
