Daanbantayan, Cebu – Amidst a world where basic necessities are often taken for granted, the people of Sitio Upper Bantigue in Barangay Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu, experienced a heartwarming and transformative event on July 16, 2023. It was all part of the 28th Police Community Relations Month Celebration, where the 701st Maneuver Company RMFB 7, Company Advisory Council, and PNP EOD K9 Unit from Bogo City joined forces with the Daanbantayan Municipal Police Station for a meaningful Community Outreach Program.
The event commenced with an enlightening lecture covering crucial topics such as Anti-Terrorism, Anti-Illegal Drugs, and Bomb Awareness. The participants eagerly absorbed the valuable information, empowering them with knowledge to protect themselves and their community.
As the sun set, a nourishing Feeding Program was organized to not only fill the hearts and minds but also the stomachs of the residents. Sixty food packs were generously distributed, providing a small reprieve and bringing comfort to those facing challenging circumstances. Moreover, the event demonstrated heartfelt generosity as they distributed 60 pairs of slippers, benefiting a total of 120 individuals. This act of kindness not only addressed their immediate needs but also brought smiles and comfort to the less fortunate members of the community.
At the forefront of this initiative were PCPT Jan Christian A Bautista from Daanbantayan MPS and PLT Verano Sacpa from the 701st MC personnel. Their dedication and enthusiasm inspired everyone involved. Gracing the event was the presence of Pastora Levy Lepon, a Faith-Based Volunteer of Brgy Agujo, who provided unwavering support to the cause. The collaboration extended to include the EOD personnel from Bogo City and the Barangay Officials of Brgy Agujo, illustrating the true essence of community unity.
