Sta. Fe, Cebu – In a commendable effort to improve the lives of those living in remote areas, the RCSP team of the 701st Maneuver Company, RMFB7, recently launched a project called “Libreng Kahayag, Alang Kaninyo” in Kinatarcan, Sta. Fe, Cebu. The project, which took place from May to June 2023, involved the distribution and installation of solar lights in households that do not have access to electricity. This initiative has had a significant positive impact on the lives of five households, comprising a total of 20 individuals. The success of this project was made possible through the unwavering support of the 701st Maneuver Company Advisory Council, the local government unit (LGU), and various stakeholders.
Plt Verano K. Sacpa, Officer-in-Charge of the 701st Maneuver Company, emphasized the importance of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The RCSP serves as a vital link between the community, government services, and other stakeholders, enabling them to address the needs of the most impoverished members of society effectively. By implementing valuable initiatives that contribute to community welfare and development while maintaining peace and order, the project also aligns with efforts to end local communist armed conflict (ELCAC).
The “Libreng Kahayag, Alang Kaninyo” project stands as a shining example of how collaboration between government forces, local authorities, and community stakeholders can make a tangible difference in the lives of marginalized households. As the 701st Maneuver Company, RMFB7 continue their dedicated efforts, more communities in need may receive the gift of light and a better quality of life.
Under the leadership of Force Commander PCol Ronan R. Claravall, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 remains steadfast in fulfilling its duty to uphold peace and order in Northern Cebu. The RMFB 7 will continue to actively carry out its mandate in the region.
