Danao City – An intensive police operation was carried out in three mountainous barangays of Danao City, Cebu which resulted to the arrest of a wanted person and voluntary surrender of unlicensed firearms with live ammunitions.
The 701st Maneuver Company of RMFB7 led by Plt Verano K Sacpa, together with Danao CPS, CMFC LCPO, AND CIU CCPO conducted a focused law enforcement and combat operation in the remote barangays of Danao City. This led to the successful arrest of an individual known as alias Otillo at Brgy Licos, Danao City on July 27, 2023. Said person had been evading arrest for almost nine years due to a standing warrant of arrest for the commission of attempted homicide, in relation to ra10591 sometime in 2014. The arrested person was turned-over to the local police station for the required legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, a symposium with the residents regarding the dangers of possessing unlicensed firearms was conducted in the same area, which is noted for allegations of presence of some persons possessing the same. Consequently, on June 28, 2023, a certain individual voluntary approached the operating troops and turned-over his three unlicensed firearms with live ammunitions. The surrendered items were kept in custody by the personnel of 701st MC for proper disposition.
The success of this operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police in ensuring justice and preserving peace within the communities they serve.
Under the leadership of Force Commander PCol Dyan Vicente Agustin, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 remains steadfast in fulfilling its duty to uphold peace and order in Northern Cebu. RMFB7 will continue to actively carry out its mandate throughout the region.
