Catmon, Cebu | In a renewed display of unity and shared commitment to public safety, the Catmon Municipal Police Station (MPS), in close collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Catmon, successfully conducted the Force Multipliers Refresher Training for members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), and Catmon Traffic Command (CATCOM). This initiative stands as a testament to the enduring partnership between the police and the community under the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) approach, a model that champions proactive engagement, collaboration, and compassion in the pursuit of peace and order.
The training highlighted the shared vision of both the PNP and the LGU to empower community force multipliers as vital partners in crime prevention, public safety, and peacekeeping. It reinforces the belief that effective policing goes beyond law enforcement—it thrives through community participation, mutual trust, and cooperation. No matter how well-trained, equipped, or motivated the police force may be, the success of peace and order initiatives ultimately depends on the active involvement of the people they serve. Through the continuous strengthening of the BPATs, CATCOM, and other community partners, Catmon MPS ensures that every barangay becomes a safer, more resilient, and more responsive community.

The activity consisted of three key phases: Lecture, Demonstration, and Simulation Exercises. The Lecture Phase provided participants with a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities as force multipliers, emphasizing their importance in contributing law enforcement and supporting community safety programs. The Demonstration Phase offered practical learning experiences, where participants were trained in managing traffic during road incidents and in responding to operational challenges with confidence and discipline. The Simulation Exercises, which served as the culminating phase, allowed participants to apply their acquired knowledge through realistic field scenarios, enhancing their teamwork, decision-making, and situational awareness in actual public safety situations. The conduct of Simulation Exercises will continue in the coming days to further reinforce their learning and maintain operational readiness.
Catmon MPS, led by its dedicated officers and personnel, expressed profound appreciation to the LGU of Catmon for its unwavering support and partnership. The collaboration between the police and the local government exemplifies the spirit of “Bayanihan sa Kapayapaan”, a unified effort where every citizen becomes a stakeholder in peace and development.
